Asbestos Slates Roof Maintenance
Asbestos Slates Roof Maintenance
Wisepon Construction was commissioned to conduct specialized maintenance on an asbestos slate roof, which was showing signs of weathering, surface degradation, and minor leakages.
Due to the delicate and hazardous nature of asbestos materials, this project demanded precision, safety compliance, and expert handling to prevent fiber exposure and extend the life of the existing roofing system.
Scope of Work
We implemented a tailored, multi-phase maintenance process:
- Roof inspection and risk assessment to identify cracks, moss growth, and broken slates.
- Manual cleaning to remove moss, algae, and debris without disturbing the asbestos material.
- Crack sealing and gap filling using flexible, asbestos-compatible sealants.
- Replacement of broken slates with matching non-asbestos alternatives.
- Application of penetrating waterproofing agent to seal porous surfaces and prevent moisture absorption.
- Protective roof coating to reduce weather impact and seal micro-fissures.
- Final inspection and client briefing on safe roof management and monitoring.
Wisepon Construction handled the asbestos roof with utmost professionalism and care. We were worried about replacing it, but they gave us a safe, strong alternative through expert maintenance.
